One of SCA’s clients is a German manufacturing company with a sales & distribution office in the UK. Their General Manager who himself was recruited by SCA some five years earlier was leaving to take on a much senior role. SCA was asked by the German Directors to find a replacement. After advertising, we interviewed and produced an excellent shortlist of candidates. The replacement General Manager joined them within three months of the initial briefing. We were then asked by the client to recruit a Marketing Manager, on this occasion we used the Internet as a source of candidates and following interviews which we conducted alongside the new General Manager an offer was made and accepted.
We filled our first vacancy in Shanghai earlier in 2010 for a General Manager at a salary of c£114,000pa. The role was advertised on the internet and required a Mandarin speaking senior executive. After a series of four interviews conducted in Shanghai an appointment was successfully made.
SCA was recently asked to assist with the recruitment of a Pump Sales Manager of a major European manufacturer, nothing unusual with this apart from the territory to be covered - Nigeria. SCA was working for an Italian HR Director whom we had never met and liasing with a UK based HR Manager whom we have known for more than twenty years. This was a difficult role bearing in mind the problems within the Nigerian Petro-Chem industry however after completing a series of interviews an offer was made and accepted.
